For boaters that need small amounts of energy storage, but need fast charging from their Yanmar diesel, (pocket cruisers and racers) this compact, simple, super high output system is ideal. The 200 amp battery is equivalent to 400 amps of lead acid (400 x .40 depleted = usable 160 amps) however this battery can take 1 c or 200 amps. Whereas lead acid is only .25 MAX or 100 amps. That is to start, in bulk, however as the voltage rises the current will decrease, not so with Life po 4.
The alternator is a simple bolt on replacement and the Pro X comes with all needed peripherals. The simple light weight 200-amp Life PO 4 battery is too a drop in replacement. Create space, save weight, save fuel, add a load to the engine at idle, extend your cruising range, reduce engine run time. This system when added to small solar arrays will give you energy independence.
